    Departure with your guide for a full day tour towards South until the province of Drome, which is situated at the immediate border of Provence.

    Guided tour of the Château de Grignan. Learn more about this Renaissance and classical castle built on top of a rocky promontory overlooking the village (15 minutes uphill walk). At the 17th century, the Marquise de Sévigné stayed here with her daughter Françoise-Marguerite. Classified as heritage site, the castle got the label as French Museum in 1993 and offers to its visitors precious testimonies about the way of life during different periods of time.

    Guided tour of old olive oil mills of Nyons, as well as a soap fabric of the 18th century. The visit ends with an oil and olives tasting.

    Continuation with the guided tour of the last scourtin manufacture of France. This place which was founded in 1852 by Ferdinand Fert, makes scourtins, kind of filters used for olive oil extraction or traditional wine press, made from coconut fibers. Presentation of its background and then you will attend all the steps of production.

    Free time in the lovely village of Nyons, and its rich historical heritage. Its main attractions are the Randonne tower dating from the 13th century, the famous Roman bridge from the 14th century and the Arcades square (traditional market every Thursday morning). Return back to Lyon.

    Other sites to visit in Drôme :

    • Discover the production workshops of a perfume factory, the stillpot museum, the distillery and the creative workshop. Smell the fragrances of plenty of local floral essences: from rose to violet, lavender, jasmine or lily of the valley, blackberry and orchid… your senses will be delighted.
    • A wine estate settled in so-called « cathedral cellars »: a unique site excavated in the chalky rocks of the village of Saint Restitut. This place offers ideal conditions for hygrometry and temperature, favorable for wine making and storage. The spirit of the site is in total harmony with the biodynamic approach of the estate. The priority of the oenologist is to produce good grapes with adapted care in order to give birth to excellent wines, their wine-producing methods revealing their biological terroir.
    • Lavender and aromatic plants distillery: a place which perpetuates since 1939 the tradition of distillation. Visit the production site with its discovery space, its shop and possibility to taste the famous lavender ice cream. In the shop, find natural essential oils and a line of well-being products  « Made in Provence » (guided tours from April to September).
